• Bullying Bullies

    Bullying Prevention Program

    • The Board of Education is committed to providing a safe learning environment within its schools. Bullying of a student by another student is strictly prohibited on school property, in school buildings, on school buses, and at school sponsored events and/or activities both on and off campus.

    • The term “bullying” among children is defined, in general, as: “a variety of negative acts carried out repeatedly over time. It involves a real or perceived imbalance of power, with a more powerful child or group attacking those who are less powerful.”

    • Bullying can take three forms: Physical, Verbal, and Psychological.

    • Bullying may occur as a form of harassment and/or hazing of students by other students.

    • Our bullying program is designed to support both parents and children. Students at the Happy Valley Middle School should always know that they have someone to turn to at school.

    • Please encourage your child to report all bullying incidents through our confidential reporting form or by picking up a form copy in the guidance or main office. These forms may be turned in to the guidance office, main office, or nurse's office or given to any adult. These forms should also be used by bystanders who witness a bullying situation, whether or not they feel comfortable becoming involved.
